透過精選的書籍、版畫與歷史地圖，您將追溯人類遷徙的演進歷程——從近世初期艱苦卓絕的航海時代，到定義現代旅遊業、充滿溫馨與歡迎儀式的庇護與款待。無論是十七世紀城市 全景圖的細緻線條吸引了您，還是經典遊記中扣人心弦的散文觸動了您，我們都邀請您在此駐足、探索，並發現「流浪」與「款待」這兩門永恆的藝術如何形塑了我們的世界。願 這個館藏能激發您的想像力，展翅高飛。

Every road traveled leaves an imprint, not just on the map, but also on the soul of the traveler and that of the host. This exhibition invites you to step across those boundaries and experience the world as explorers, merchants and tourists once did. Through this curated selection of books, engravings, and historic maps, you will trace the evolution of human movement—from the arduous voyages of the early modern era to the comforting rituals of shelter and welcome that characterize modern tourism. Whether you are drawn to the intricate lines of a 17th-century city panorama or the evocative prose of classic travelogues, we invite you to linger, explore, and discover how the timeless arts of wandering and welcoming have shaped our world. May this collection inspire your own imagination to take flight.

歐美古書展:系列二~西方眼中的福爾摩沙

 Welcome to this Book Exhibition “Formosa Through Western Eyes”

歡迎光臨「西方眼中的福爾摩沙」主題書展。

本展覽匯集了四個世紀以來關於台灣的西方著作，為讀者呈現一場引人入勝的視覺與知性之旅，循跡台灣如何從早期歐洲旅遊報告中遙遠的邊陲異域，逐步蛻變為今日的現代民主國家。透過追溯西方商人、傳教士、科學家、外交官、記者及其他旅人筆下的台灣／福爾摩沙形象，本展覽旨在呈現全球視角的轉變，如何不斷重塑世界對台灣獨特文化與歷史主體性的認知。

策展人： 馮翰士教授（Dr. Henk Vynckier）與觀光學院旅展管理系師生，聯合僑光科技大學圖書館共同主辦。

This exhibition of Western writings on Taiwan across four centuries offers a captivating visual and intellectual journey, tracing the island's evolution from a far away frontier in early European travel reports into a modern democracy. By tracing the image of Taiwan/Formosa in Western writings by merchants, missionaries, scientists, diplomats, journalists and other travelers, the exhibition illustrates how shifting global perspectives have continuously reshaped the world's understanding of Taiwan's distinct cultural and historical identity.

歐美古書展:系列一~歐美兒童文學 & 剪貼簿展覽

 

本次展覽中的每一本書，都是連結作者想像力與我們當下時光的有形橋樑。

雖然普遍書籍皆是如此，但兒童文學尤其像是一扇傳送門，

帶領我們回到青少年時期那無邊無際的想像世界。

儘管展出的展品僅代表了歐美童書與剪貼簿的一小部分，

但它們共同將圖書館的一個簡約角落轉化為故事之境，既頌揚了故事的普世魔力，也紀念了墨水與紙張中所蘊含的私人歷史。

Each book in this exhibition represents a tangible bridge between theauthor’s imagination and our time. While this is true for books in general, children's literature in particular serves as a portal back to the boundless imagination of youth. Together, all the items in this exhibition, while only representing a very small sample of European and American children’s books and scrapbooks, transform a simple corner in a library into a world of storytelling, celebrating both the universal magic of stories and the intimate histories found in ink and paper.
